The funky Adams Morgan community is known as the center of Washington, D.C. nightlife. Visit the crossroads of 18th Street, NW and Columbia Road, NW for many of the most popular bars and clubs in the area. During the day, walk the streets and see murals, such as Cows on a Bicycle, The Laundromat, Adams Morgan's Smallest, and more, in various locations around the community. You'll also get to observe the 19th and early 20th century colorful commercial buildings that still stand throughout this area. On Saturdays with clear skies, the local farmers market sells organic foods grown locally. And on September's second Sunday, you can attend the Adams Morgan Day Festival, a cross-culture street celebration with booths of all kinds. Or year-round you can visit the National Zoological Park, which is nearby, home to thousands of exotic animals. Parking around Adams Morgan is available on the street; however, it fills up quickly, so the best transportation to the area is the Metro, with the nearest stations being the Woodley-Park Zoo/Adams Morgan and the Dupont Circle. A number of WMATA Metrobus lines serve the area too, as well as a DC Circulator bus route.
