The Medstar Georgetown University Hospital is located in northwest Washington, D.C., in the Georgetown neighborhood, just 3.5 miles from the center of the city. The hospital is affiliated with Georgetown University's School of Medicine and is a research and teaching facility as well. Founded in 1898, the hospital now has some of the best clinical services in the area, with a great healthcare and delivery network. Visitors to the hospital may park in the Hospital Parking Garage at entrance 2 for a fee. Surrounding Georgetown Hospital in Georgetown are many unique historic items of interest as well. The Old Stone House, for example, built in 1765, is the oldest building in Washington D.C. that is still intact. It can be viewed from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, except on major holidays. Or the Dumbarton House has been made a museum, containing artwork, furniture, and architecture of a Federal period style. It is open for tours from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A variety of other attractions, including restaurants, clubs, shops of many kinds, and more are to be found near Georgetown Hospital.
